Nutrition for adults with ADHD

Nutrition care for ADHD with a Registered Dietitian, in Wilmington, North Carolina and by telehealth.

Most insurance accepted.

Nutrition advice often gives advice that doesn't work for your unique brain

Most nutrition guidance quietly assumes you will plan a week of meals, shop from a list, cook on a Tuesday when you are tired, and eat at regular intervals without being reminded.

If you have ADHD, you already know where that falls apart.

It is not the knowing.

It is the shopping, the starting, the standing in a kitchen at seven o'clock with four ingredients and no idea what to do with them.

It is realizing at four in the afternoon that you have not eaten.

It is the eleven textures you cannot tolerate that nobody accounts for.

None of this is a discipline problem, and I am not going to treat it like one.

What we work on together

ADHD
nutrition support

  • Eating regularly when hunger cues are unreliable or arrive too late

  • Food aversions and a narrow list of safe foods, without pressure to expand faster than you want

  • Shopping and cooking systems built for low executive function days, not ideal ones

  • Appetite changes from stimulant medication, including the evening crash

  • Meals that require close to no decisions, because decisions are the expensive part

  • Nutrients worth paying attention to, and the supplements being oversold to you

Mental health nutrition support

  • Stabilizing energy levels throughout the day to avoid the "brain fog" and afternoon crash

  • The gut-brain connection: understanding which symptoms are signals and which are just noise

  • Managing appetite changes that come with stress, burnout, or medication

  • Creating food systems for low-motivation days (or weeks)

  • Sorting through the "superfood" marketing for what actually helps vs. what is being sold to you

  • Identifying the nutrients that matter for your mood without needing a pantry full of supplements

How this works in practice

We start from what you already eat and already manage, then add one or two changes small enough to survive a hard week.

Not a system to maintain. A handful of things that make eating easier when everything else is loud.

I also work with adults managing depression, anxiety, and the intersection of mood and eating, which frequently sits alongside ADHD.

How it works

1

Book a first appointment

Online, in a few clicks. We will confirm your insurance before you are charged anything.

2

We spend the first session listening

Your history, your labs, your schedule, what you actually eat, and what has already failed you.

3

You get a plan you can follow

Not a meal plan you will abandon. Specific, small, and built around the life you already have.
